History

Easter Regatta, the premier regatta of the Columbia Sailing Club on Lake Murray South Carolina, has been "a thing" since 1966 for more than 50 years. Originally sailed in E Scows , it was the first co-sailed with the burgeoning fleet J/24 in 1985. As the E Scow fleet dwindled to only 6 boats, compared to 60-70 boat fleets in the early day's, the Board of Stewards of CSC elected to hand it over to the hugely popular J/24 class. By 1987 the regatta was on the calendar of nearly every travelling J/24 sailor on the east coast. With regatta participation as high as 56 boat's in the 1990's this event has always hosted great competition, excellent food and the world's best people.
